I guess people DO age and change...
If you're like me, you get a mental image of
people at a certain point in time, and they never age or change. This
could be your childhood friend that you haven't seen in thirty years. It
could be that high school teacher that you loved/hated 20+ years ago. It
could be a Hollywood celebrity... wait... they NEVER age due
to makeup and surgery...
Anyway...
I was scanning through the channels today and happened upon the annual
American Labor Day tradition known as the Muscular Dystrophy telethon hosted
by Jerry Lewis. I remember watching many, many hours of that show
growing up. I also remember watching old Jerry Lewis movies, and
that's the image I had of him firmly implanted in my mind...
Until today...
He's probably gained over 100 pounds and looks nothing like he did in my
memory. Guess it's time for that mental image to be updated.... I
suppose I should go though some old photos and update my own mental image
of yours truly... Nah, I'm sure I look just like I did when I was
18... except for the hair... and the few extra pounds... and
the wrinkles...
