Special of the day

If you will direct yourself to the whiteboard, the special of the day is upgrades to Domino 6.  Apparently everyone was asking for this menu item recently.  Little did they know that some of them can easily purchase this upgrade.  While others on the other hand, well they have so many side items (Capteris, Sametime, Websphere Portal Server and Quickplace) that they are not of legal age apparently to purchase this fine menu item.
Basically we ran into what many of you are, that with add-ons for Domino, some are not ready or certified for Domino 6 and you cannot upgrade because of that.  At least on certain servers.  This causes us great discomfort as you can imagine.  The clients want the latest and greatest Domino features but we can't deliver.  Now I made the call to Capteris to see what their timeframe is for a Domino 6 product.  I will update you when I know.  As for the Lotus generated products, well we shall see their rollout time for Sametime/Quickplace on 6 support.

On the personal side, I went for the state required emissions exam.  You only have to get this in major cities in Missouri, always a treat.  I usually get lucky and have what they call Rapid Screening where they get you exiting or entering a highway and mail it to you.  Unfortunately with the new car I had to get it done at the place.  Well here is the short story.  At the end of the month that place is crazy, packed and long lines.  They even give huge discounts (like $20 off the $24 if you wait over an hour).  Well I pulled up with no line, no waiting.  Right in and right out.  Like 7 minutes total.
Here is the catch.  Being that I never went through the actual place, I happened to glance at the sheet they gave me after applying the sticker.  This is of course as I am pulling out.  Well I may not know better, but I certainly did NOT drive a 85 Oldsmobile into the center to get inspected.  I went back and got it all fixed right away, after a stop with the manager.  My thoughts?  Now that I reflect back, the guy was printing a lot of extra forms.  I think he was making extras to sell to pass for people.  The one he gave me had a license, VIN and model of another car.  Make your own judgement here of course.  But the passing is strict and I can see an 85 Olds having issues passing the clean air program
