Excuse the colors
OK, I have changed the look and feel to
even match more to the Domino
Blog site as I liked that a lot. I have
to change one more color but I do like the green hover over the links on
the right.
I have a wonderful story for everyone
that I didn't write yesterday so I made sure I waited till today for the
conclusion. Hold on a few while I eat lunch and I will type it in.
First things first, I finally got the colors where I want
them for the majority of the site. Don't get me wrong, I didn't say
you would like them, I said got them where I WANT THEM. One
of the wonders of running your own blog site with your own template. Now
I was out perusing the web for a few following links and I came across
this interesting
site. I have not gone through it but the
theory interested me. I think Ed
will have his up there at least under most interest.
Back to the technical issue of
the day. Give me some thoughts on this one. A customer asks
for a configuration of some new software for web
reporting. This gets completed and then
a follow-up email is sent saying it is ready and here is the link. Now
apparently it got lost somewhere around here while
on it's journey. But then two weeks later
a wonderful email comes to you and the remainder of the company executive
tree saying how far behind they are, etc etc since it isn't done. A
prompt reply simply asked why no peep was heard in the past two weeks if
you were waiting. Why not ask for a status at which time you would
have received the same answer....it is done and here is the reporting link.
Ok, I had to vent that some.
One of the interesting theories
of the day is what template to use for Intranet users at a financial company
we support. They are trying to roll out iNotes to the general population
and remove client support, but their browser security settings don't allow
most of the ActiveX. Now you said what I did, just push out the security
change and all is well. Well, of course, there is an issue. They
have no rollout mechanism, those machines are shipped to the user built
with no update ability. So it is worth the effort to change or have
a SMS package set, or just do it manually? Or
scrap it and stay with (ewww) standard webmail.
I vote to put the gremlins
to work if we have to and get this thing to rest. Remember, don't
let them near the water!
I might return once more depending on how this upgrade goes
in a few minutes.
