Getting social at Lotusphere 2012 with IdoCheckin, Flickr, Twitter and more

Each year we grow the community involvement in how we build our social interaction.  With barely a month to go *gasp* I wanted to give you the annual first update.

Location services

IdoCheckin is back for the fourth year.  The past couple years we have moved to Foursquare with great success.  Remember, checking in is totally optional and can be manual or automatic based on your personal preference.  But simply checking into the main venue and letting us know you are here for Lotusphere 2012 would be great.  Look for more news around this feature coming. Head over there to get the information on being connected

Twitter

The Lotusphere 2012 speaker list is launched for Twitter.  We are still colllecting Twitter names to add so leave a comment here with yours (if you are speaking) and you will get added.  Also, make sure you follow the list.  If you are unsure about what lists can do to keep your timeline clean, send me a note.

Also the Lotusphere community reflector account on Twitter will be back up and running for the fourth year. It allows messages to be rebroadcast.  So in essence you can follow one account and see and reach many.

I have to promote you can always follow me or Spiked Studio to keep up as well.

Photos

Each year the community has managed a Flickr phot pool where you still post your own photos but simply click when uploading or later and send them to the pool.  This is a great way to share the photos and give many different angles to Lotusphere.  Get involved and join the Lotusphere 2012 community pool again.  (here is a peek at the Lotusphere 2011 group to give you an idea with almost 700 photos)

LinkedIn

There has been many and long running groups over at LinkedIn for those that like using that.  Visit the Lotusphere Community to request membership with the other +1025 members.  This group was formed in 2008.  There seems to be a Lotusphere 2012 group that started via the Crossware team back in July 2011.
