Can I Throttle and Restrict SMTP Connections in Domino?

While most companies now use a SMTP appliance to scan for viruses and spam, you may still want to throttle connections from individual  internal servers or the appliances to your IBM Domino server.

This leads to questioning how Domino can throttle SMTP traffic from specific hosts. After some quick verification of what I was almost sure was not fully possible, there is a partial solution I know of.

By default, the Domino SMTP service supports an unlimited number of inbound sessions; that is, as many connections as the server's resources physically permit.

So what can you do? Basically in IBM Domino only restrict total SMTP inbound connections.  Read more right here.
