Belkin MultiTasker Pro and QODE Bluetooth case for iPad Air reviews

Beklin was kind enough to send over the Belkin MultiTasker Pro Cover / Case for iPad Air and the Belkin QODE Slim Style Keyboard and Case for iPad Air for review. Here are both review summaries and videos

The Belkin MultiTasker Pro Cover / Case for iPad Air review:

The Belkin MultiTasker Pro Cover / Case for iPad Air (iPad 5) is a decent case for primarily landscape mode users. With 4 slots for angled viewing and the lower typing model this case is made well and durable for the iPad Air model. It had the added benefit of the inside business card slots we show in the video for keeping a couple cards handy or ones you collect at meetings.

This case is not designed for standing the iPad in portrait mode and that was made obvious in the video plus in the way the case only folds one way. This seems to be a common theme across most case providers now.

The outside magnetic clasp that holds the case shut can also act as a stylus clip if needed. We did find that the idea of the Smart Cover auto feature worked once or twice but not consistently. The only magnets seem to be in the clasp itself which would explain it.

All of the necessary ports were exposed and easily accessed. The case was hard to fold back to make it more like a reading mode in bed due to the fold for the typing mode. This would make it a bad case for someone that just likes to hold the iPad and read. However, if they like to have it open wide like a book the it will work well.

See the video for more opinions and the case in action.

The Belkin QODE Slim Style Keyboard and Case for iPad Air review:
I like having a BlueTooth keyboard for the iPad and I hoped the Belkin QODE Slim Style Keyboard Case for the iPad Air would deliver. I really do and I really wanted to like every part of this. But it seems Belkin cut back in some areas of the case design to focus on the keyboard.

The keyboard of the Belkin QODE Slim Style Keyboard Case for the iPad Air itself was responsive, held a charge for days and had decently spaced keys for easy typing. Belkin made it fit well into the space allied and added some extra function buttons across the top.

Now the case design for the Belkin QODE Slim Style Keyboard Case for the iPad Air was lacking. There was no strap or clip to keep it closed causing the Smart Cover to activate sometimes. I say sometimes because we could hardly get it to work correctly. There was a strange curve I show in the video from the keyboard side of the case causing it to not always seem flush. There are no business card holders or stylus hooks as in other models which seemed limiting.

The biggest concern of the Belkin QODE Slim Style Keyboard Case for iPad Air was the very simple straps, as shown in the video, that hold the iPad in. We notice this right away and I would be worried about the iPad Air slipping out. We also notice that the back stand easily folds back up causing the iPad to fall down onto the table top. You can see in the video we struggle with keeping it extended at one point.

So you will have to weigh the options on this one. Good keyboard versus some flaws in the case design. See the video for more.
