IdoNotes (and sleep)

Between blog postings, Tweets on Twitter and postings in the general Notes 8 forum on Notes.net, there seems to be some inconsistencies.  I personally have not seen all these yet, but it raises an eyebrow

From Notes.net:
Date Topic Author
3 8.0.2 - Sending new email Leonard W Gray
5 8.0.2 LN Client hangs Lucia LE FLEM
3 Sys Tray icon in 8.0.2, pops up then disappears really fast Mark T Hughes
11 Notes 8.0.2 - Instant Messaging Login Issues Roland Reddekop
6 Lotus Notes 8.0.2 Client - Issues/Feedback joe wichowski

Summize search on Twitter can be found here where you get a mix of praise and problems.  Some say integration, some say startup issues, some say upgrade issues.

Image:Anyone want to guess why all these 8.0.2 issues are appearing?

Not seeing these problems. I wonder how many people were using 802 beta. I had other issues but those were due to very little info about having to update to the Lotus Quickr Connectors H5 for the sidebar to work

I have here another issue... create a user with a 802 client. Set the quota via client...

for example 200MB Warnung, quota 300. And the user will get 200GB Warning and 300GB Quota...

Probably all those people that don't know how to clean up TEMP directories.

And vowe.... bullshit. We saw WAY more issues with 8.0.0. Heck, we saw more issues with 6.0.0. And so did you.

As someone who has seen it on clients, not servers it's odd. Sure you can clear cache and temp and other things but YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO!

If i do nothing at all for normal end users, 3/4 were fine, 1 isn't.

All same everything except the user and possibly some 3rd party software(like when google desktop would break install).

I was thinking of R5 upgrades but there are always things that occur. Nothing is perfect, if it was we wouldn't have jobs.

@Nathan - Yes we saw them with .0.0 releases, but issues upgrading to a point release? Numerous reports for that matter. Wierd to me still

Character Bio:

This will take far more time than I have today. I will start with I was born and still live in St. Louis, MO. Even though for a couple years I was never, ever here and always on the road, this is smack in the middle of the US. Everything is just a few hour flight. That part is nice. No beach/ocean/coast isn't the best. But with the travel I make up for it.

Don't Panic

Looking to find me in person? Here is where I will be.
