Sametime, clusters and Websphere Portal

After that wonderful adventure a few weeks
ago creating the Sametime cluster I blogged about, little things like to
pop up. Like why won't the Websphere Portal utilize the cluster name
for awareness? One server works just grand. After a bit of
searching I came across this little gem. Ever hear of rolling snake
eyes?

| Problem |
| A customer has clustering set
up with Domino Servers for QuickPlace, Sametime, and Notes databases, including
mail databases. The customer would like to be able to use the
cluster name instead of the specific server name so that the Lotus Collaborative
Portlets, which run in Websphere Portal 4.x will use the advantages of
Domino clustering. Is this setup possible?

in WebSphere Portal 4.1x.
An enhancement request for this functionality has been submitted to Lotus Software Quality Engineering. It may be investigated for inclusion in later releases. |
