Lotusphere Podcasts - issues with the session eval system

IBM Connect 2013 Get Social Do Business

I am trying to fill out evaluations at IBM Connect and Lotusphere 2013 and I am having these issues with the system that runs it. Early warning and I hope they issue a fix quick.

P.S. my session numbers if they fix this is BP102 or 1050 for the four digit code.

The Top 10 PlanetLotus Community posts for 2012 - IdoNotes Episode 132

PlanetLotus.org logo

Working together with Yancy Lent, the founder of PlanetLotus, we compiled the Top 10 posts for 2012 on PlanetLotus. We owe huge thanks to Yancy for taking the time to dig through these statistics.

I had a chance to sit with Karl-Henry Martinsson and Ulrich Klause live and talk about their Top 10 PlanetLotus posts for 2012 and then we discuss IBM Domino 9 and IBM Connect 2013.

The order below is not exact as some of these shifted since the count was so close. This is quite a list and as you can see the majority are around the new launch of IBM Notes and Domino 9 Social Edition.

Lotusphere Podcasts - The unofficial IBM Connect 2013 session database has launched

In previous Lotusphere years we had the unofficial Lotusphere database from Ben of Genii Software and this year for IBM Connect 2013 and Lotusphere a new version from Mat Newman of ISW launches.  What makes this database different than the Session Preview Tool from IBM we looked at last week? Watch the video above to find out.

IdoNotes Episode 127 - Live at IBM PureSystems Labs

This week I had the opportunity to spend some time at the IBM PureSystem Labs that work with PureFlex and PureApplications. While the PureFlex systems were well defined on the specifications webpage (even after taking 12 clicks to find) the PureApplications systems were not.  I included what single image I could find into the video thanks to an IBM rep that was nearby.

The amount of horsepower in each rack with the interchangeable and expandable chassis slots makes it a great data center in a box approach.  Coupled with the management platform, you are able to spin on resources on demand and even take them away when demand drops.  Check out the video for more.

IdoNotes Episode 104 - Social Business Jam walkthrough #ls11

You can also watch this video in HD on the IdoNotes YouTube Channel.

IBM launched the Social Business Jam today, in an attempt to get businesses and social media experts to participate for 72 hours in sharing ideas and brainstorming.  I did a screencast of my thoughts as I entered the jam.  I was hoping it was populated with some starters in advance.  But I found it to be quite empty and I was not sure what to do.

While a Help section was there, and I noted it, a splash with simple steps would have made more sense.

You have about 70 hours left to get involved at the IBM Social Business Jam

UPDATE: The Jam I was thinking of at the end of the video was the Innovation Jam in 2006 via their Collaboration Jams
During IBM's 2006 Innovation JamTM - the largest IBM online brainstorming session ever held - IBM brought together more than 150,000 people from 104 countries and 67 companies. As a result, 10 new IBM businesses were launched with seed investment totaling $100 million.

IdoNotes Episode 103 - Gurupalooza at Lotusphere 2011 #ls11

I had the opportunity to again  be part of Gurupalooza.  I have sat on that stage each year since the very first time Rocky Oliver threw it together.  This year Susan Bulloch was the ringmaster, and did an amazing job keeping tens of best practice speakers in order.

If you have missed this session over the years, you get the chance to ask questions of the entire BP speaker track.
You've been basking in the knowledge that has shone down upon you from our tracks of experts all week. You’ve listened to their sessions, “borrowed” their ideas, and have cornered them in the hallways at every opportunity to get that little bit of extra help. But, as always, there are more questions than opportunities for answers. We’re giving you one last chance to pick their brains — and that opportunity is known as GURUpalooza. Bring those final questions, comments, and even a little bit of praise to GURUpalooza and let’s all have one more collaborative "geek fest"before we draw Lotusphere 2011 to a close!

This podcast is brought to you by IdoSphere.  Join in for two days of live web based technical presentations.  Most of the sessions brand new and never seen at the other events.  All recorded and available for playback at your convenience as a registered attendee.

IdoNotes Episode 30 - I interview Kathy Mandelstein on the new developerWorks community spaces announcement

Right from the press release comes the interview with Kathy Mandelstein, Director, Worldwide Developer Programs, IBM.  She and I talk for about 17 minutes on the new community spaces and then all things developerWorks and Alphaworks.  I could not let that chance slip by!  There is a new area on Alphaworks wrapped around web services that you need to see!
I also inquire if Sametime awareness will show up someday soon and how all these pieces will integrate together.

Kathy Mandelstein currently manages the worldwide teams responsible for
engaging and communicating to development teams for IBM. The teams support
a community of innovative e-business portals including www.ibm.com
/developerWorks, IBM's resource for developers; www.ibm.com/alphaWorks,
which speeds IBM technology to market and attracts developers' feedback to
IBM's new product development process; and PartnerWorld for Developers,
www.ibm.com,/partnerworld/isv, IBM's Partner program for commercial
software developers interested in building applications that support IBM
technologies.

Kathy and her cross-functional teams consist of marketers, producers,
writers, technical evanglists, and business people reaching out to
developers in cities around the globe. Prior to her current assignment,
Kathy managed Web Development and Marketing teams in IBM Software Group.
She has focused on the developer audience for the last eight years and
began at IBM by leading the Java and e-business campaigns for this
audience. Before joining IBM in 1997, Kathy managed one of the earliest
successful retail Web sites, www.jcpenney.com. Kathy has over 20 years of
professional experience in the areas of advertising, marketing, corporate
communications, sales, management and web development.
